GUIDE HUB
Moonlit Voyage guide
Choose the coast, moon channel or open water while managing time, hull and lamp oil. Carry starlight across seven sections to the eastern lighthouse before dawn, with optional real sky data for Lisbon.
For players who plan a route with limited resources
Protect your options, not just your speed
Time, hull and oil can substitute for one another in Moonlit Voyage. Hugging the coast protects the ship but spends the night; rushing through open water saves time but makes later rough passages harder to afford. The useful question is not just which move is fastest, but which choices remain afterward.
Compare each displayed cost with your remaining resources before committing. A route that worked in the previous section is not automatically best in the next. Keeping a reserve of hull or oil buys the freedom to change your plan later.
A port trades time for another resource
The two ports offer a chance to recover, but repairs and oil take time. Rather than refilling a gauge simply because it is low, ask which later route that recovery would make possible.
Will a repair let you risk open water? Will more oil open the channel? Or is the time saved by passing the port more valuable? Compare the remaining sections with the time until dawn and prioritize the resource most likely to run short.
A different sky changes the plan
Practice uses a prepared sky and needs no external connection. If you choose to import the real sky, sunset, the following sunrise and moon illumination for the fixed location Lisbon shape the voyage. This does not reproduce weather at your own location and must not be used for real navigation.
Moonlight changes the channel’s oil cost, so repeating yesterday’s route is not always enough. When comparing results, check the date and whether the sky was live, cached or practice. If importing fails, practice remains available.
