Tower Cipher guide

Deduce a unique-digit code from seals (exact place) and echoes (digit only). The daily cipher is the same for everyone.

Narrowing the digits

Tower Cipher is a no-repeat digit puzzle. Seals match digit and place; echoes match digit only. One careful guess prunes many options.

The daily cipher is shared by date. Start with widely spaced digits and track which numbers echo before guessing again.

Choosing a mode

Daily mode is for competing on the same seal. Practice teaches the feedback language; Sage’s Trial tightens limits for high scores. Learn seals and echoes in practice before today’s tower.

When you stall

Many echoes mean “right digits, wrong places.” Lock sealed positions and swap only the rest—and avoid repeating the same arrangement.

Spend thinking time, not guesses

The number that matters most here: every unused attempt is worth 8 points, while the time bonus only drops 1 point per 30 seconds. One saved guess is therefore worth 240 seconds of clock. Reasoning a guess all the way through before you enter it beats firing off a probe almost every time—rapid guessing is the most expensive habit in this game.

A solve scores “60 base + unused attempts × 8 + time bonus (up to 15) + 25 if you are on the sage’s trial.” Daily and practice give you 3 digits in 8 attempts; the sage’s trial gives 4 digits in 10. Because digits never repeat, there are only 720 possible 3-digit codes and 5040 four-digit ones. Used carefully, seals and echoes make 8 attempts quite generous.

If you fail, the score is only “your best seal count × 5,” and kingdom points are fixed at 2. So on the last attempt, entering your most likely arrangement to grab one more seal beats throwing away a probe guess.
