HOW TO PLAY

How to play Moonlit Voyage

Choose the coast, moon channel or open water while managing time, hull and lamp oil. Carry starlight across seven sections to the eastern lighthouse before dawn, with optional real sky data for Lisbon.

English guides and UI are ready. A few niche in-game lines may still appear in Japanese.

Basic flow

  1. 01

Start immediately with the practice sky. Import real sky data before departure only if you choose to.

  2. 02

Check the time until dawn, hull and lamp oil before setting sail. This is turn-based: thinking does not advance the clock.

  3. 03

For each of seven sections, choose the slow coast, a channel whose oil cost changes with moonlight, or fast open water that damages the hull.

  4. 04

At two ports, spend time to replenish oil or repair the hull.

  5. 05

Deliver starlight before dawn. After the voyage, press “Record and view results” to save your score and medals in this browser.

Tips

  • Keep enough hull and oil for later sections, not just the fastest next move.

  • Moonlight changes when the channel is useful. Check the displayed costs each time.

  • Ports cost time. Identify your next resource shortage while you still have room to respond.

FAQ

Do I need a connection or location permission?
Practice needs neither an external connection nor location access. Only choosing to import the real sky requests data for the fixed location Lisbon from SunriseSunset.io. Your player name, records and current location are not sent.
How is the real sky different from practice?
Real sky mode uses sunset, the following sunrise and moon illumination; practice uses prepared values. Cached data is labelled separately. Both are free and can earn medals.
What if sky data cannot be loaded?
A failed request does not stop play. Choose practice or use available cached sky data.
Can I save mid-voyage or use this for navigation?
An unfinished voyage is not saved. After finishing, press “Record and view results” to save. A run takes about 3–6 minutes and is turn-based: thinking never advances the clock. These fictional routes are for entertainment, not real navigation or weather decisions.
